Performers|
TeN、Maki Yamamoto、Taiyo /
Saigenji、Yuta Omino、Ryo Saito
We enjoyed the singing of two sets of Japanese musicians today, both full of energy. The night unfolded with refreshments at happy hour, then a performance by singer TeN and her 16-year-old son Taiyo with pianist Maki Yamamoto. Music ranging from Okinawan folk music to new songs she wrote that made people want to dance. We enjoyed Okinawan home-cooking under the setting sun, followed by a summer concert infusing Latin, Jazz, folk, and rock music, performed by genre-bending singer Saigenji, alongside Lisa Ono’s drummer Ryo Saito and double bassist Yuta Omino. We decided to organize a special Japanese weekend because we are deeply moved by these musicians’ passion and sincerity; their soothing music has healing powers and relaxes us. A Saturday night uniting two groups of artists, we hope it was an unforgettable time.
