The Seikilos epitaph is the oldest surviving complete song from Greece, and this inscribed marble tombstone is over two thousand years old. The song is recorded in ancient Greek musical notation. This epitaph was discovered in Aydin, Turkey. We got to meet this piece for the first time in Yerko Lorca’s recital-talk. Yerko Lorca is the only musician from the research team of a 3000-year-old instrument, Tartesstian Lyre. In recent years he’s devoted himself to sharing old folk tunes and creating music with Lyre and African harp. In this recital-talk, he shared his archeological experiences in the Mediterraneans excavating Lyre. This is a feast combining music, culture, and mythos.
