World Press Photo Foundation was founded in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1955. It serves as a professional photojournalism platform. By organizing seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and the annual World Press Photo contest, the foundation aims to connect the world to the stories that matters through their incredible works.
The Thermos Foundation began to organize the annual World Press Photo exhibition in Taiwan in 2004. Throughout the years, we developed localized educational activities and various side exhibitions on top of the leading exhibition. It is through these endeavors we wish to explore and express our rumination on various social issues and verbalize our hope for a society that’s highly inclusive and respectful, where we care for each other.
This exhibition seeks not to praise photography but provide educational materials that transcend boundaries. To remind us and post questions- What defines being a human? How do we, as humans, face the world? And how do we respond and listen?
